Taking a look at this country and by this country i simply mean "NIGERIA" we have had a few gospel musicians who have come and and turned around the gospel industry built it from the scratch to where it is today i am talking about the likes of panam percy paul, patty obasi, kunle ajayi who would play the sax and lead you to salvation or is it yinka ayefele, ebenezer obey and the rest of them who came out with original music to entertain, teach and most importantly lead people to salvation. they didn't sing one hit song then do the praise and worship of it, then remix it tirelessly until it becomes a bland tasteless soup.
they churned out songs, hits upon hits albums upon album. lets still not forget that things were harder for them back then, yet they never stopped.

lets fast forward a bit to the early 2000s gospel music was still good i mean ayefele was still churning out albums same as patty obasi even ebenezer obey kunle ajayi and the rest of them. i remember when i was still in junior secondary school, jhadiel came into stardom with heritage that song was beautiful, a break from the norm so catchy, then she dropped her album not long after then after that i did not here form her again till a few years give or take with a new album if she was dropping single during those period, i do not know then we started seeing the likes of sammie okposo, eben, samsong, sinach lara george, frank edwards and a host of others young and churning out good music still not deviating from the gospel of truth (MOST OF THE TIME ANYWAYS).
Now what about this present time we are in, people are refusing to be original any longer, you would here them say that they have albums as christian musicians and when you play it, its filled up with praise and worship songs that we all know, for christsakes those peoples songs you copy, they actually sat down to write them you sit yourself down and write yourself a splendid song which can become evergreen. Please less copying of other peoples songs and more writing of our own songs as that is the way the gospel industry would boom further.
olamide would not go and start singing dagrin's songs because he has run out of what to sing neither would joel go and re sing African queen because he looks like Tu face.
if they can have class, we in the gospel industry who are out to touch people's lives should do the same thing also.
